Absolutely love it here, there is nothing I don't like about Sandos Caracol. The staff are lovely and go out of their way to help You, the rooms are nice and are cleaned everyday with fresh bedding and towels replaced daily, the food is delicious, some of the shows were fantastic especially the fire of life show on Saturday nights, the resort jungle is perfect and clean, as is the whole resort. The cenotes are beautiful. The pools and water park are great. Whether you want to just relax by the pools or on the beach or go on an adventure this is the place to do it. Very highly recommended, I can't wait for my next visit.
My grandson, his girlfriend (both 18 yrs old) and I had a wonderful time at this resort. I read numerous reviews prior to leaving and I am glad I didn't base my decision to stay at this resort on some of them. The room was exceptionally clean, bathroom was spotless and have no complaints on the room what so ever. The grounds are beautiful, numerous paths to take for walks but somewhat confusing at first. Found a lot of little things to see on those little lost journeys including lots of animals. The beach area was very nice, the water had rocks so we wore our water shoes. I like a beach with rocks and waves crashing in on them and it gave us lots of places to dig for shells around the rocks. The food in the buffet was satisfactory, certainly had enough choices for everyone to find something. We didn't reserve at the Japanese restaurant early enough to get in, but thought I would check at the desk as I was walking by and a couple was cancelling 3 of their 12 reserved spots. So we were able to enjoy the spectacular Hibachi Chef show as he prepared our meal. The food was absolutely superb, it was the highlight of my trip...Thank you Sandos Caracol Resort!!! Now for my only disappointment...I feel it was lacking night time entertainment options. The shows were all Mayan related or for children. I enjoyed the outside fire show, but it was a little long and seem to be repetitive type dancing. I was hoping there would of been some adult type music/shows available but they didn't have any, not much for me to do at night while my grandson/girlfriend went to the beach to hang out. All in all, I really enjoyed this resort and it was a perfect choice for my grandson and his girlfriend and their first time to Mexico.
Would not recommend this resort to anyone . Completely hot everywhere you go, even in restaurants. Upon arrival we had to wait 4 hours to go to our room , contrary to what we were told. The food is okay if you like to run to the bathroom very frequently to dispense what you just ate. The beach is full of seaweed and very rocky. The saltwater pool was really filthy and tiles broken. The gentleman named Marco from the timeshare was really polite until we told him that we weren't going to give him that much money for something that would be much cheaper than a timeshare. Also his BOSS, NAME never mentioned, literally had us thrown out of the office. Would not recommend this resort to anyone. Do not believe the pictures that you see. Please do not waste your time and money here.
The place is amazing. They do everything they can to make you feel at home. The wildlife is incredible. It's only our 2nd day but I can't imagine it being any better than this. This resort comes with a lot of walking so be prepared. But the walks are fantastic and the scenery is worth the walk. In fact you may find yourself taking the long way on purpose.
It's not too far from Cancun airport - about a 45 min drive and if you're doing a shared transfer it's about 1 and a half hours. We got a premium room that was a pretty good size. That have plenty of other options. The better ones are near the beach. The employees here are super nice and they're always offering drinks wherever you go. The food was okay.
