  • Dated sound and lighting and a lack of friendliness. The actual building is nice, comfortable and spacious. The seating is tight but comfortable enough. Well located with plenty of parking around. The sound system is mono (I swear it isn't even stereo) and the poor, uninspiring lighting makes the show feel like a School Play. The staff is very well uniformed, fancy looking BUT NOT FRIENDLY. Not a smile, not a "Welcome", not even eye contact seeking. Improving on the stage (sound and lighting) and training the staff in "customer service" would drastically improve this theatre.

  • Been to several musical shows here which have all been A1. We like the atmosphere, the place is modern and well presented. Service is pleasant and efficient. Parking is close by, as are places for a pre-show drink or meal if you don't want to eat at the theatre (where the food is good). Saw the Carole King story which was brilliant.

  • second time we have been since I was a kid. first mama Mia which was amazing!! and then grease. would recommend for kids 6yrs and up looking forward to Christmas too!

  • Premier venue for live musicals and plays. A favourite theatre for many productions to start their tours. Always puts on quality shows. The best theatre I've been to, with good view from all seats.

  • I LOVE THE THEATRE ROYAL! We all come as a family to watch the theatre here and love it every time, there is comfy seating and it is very interactive, deserves my five stars!
