Built in 1969, The Church of the Holy Heart of Jesus is the only Roman Catholic church in Podgorica. This church was built by Zvonimir Vrkljan and features Brutalist style of architecture. This church was built at a site where the city centre church was earlier located but was destroyed in the bombing during WW2. The Sunday mass takes place at 9 and 11 AM and at 7 PM during the weekdays. The church was supposed to be built in the shape of a ship, but façade could not be finished. On the inside, the church is beautifully decorated with murals and mosaics.
