About St. Georges Church , Podgorica

Located along the foothills of the Gorica hill is St. George’s Church, an Orthodox church that was built between the 9th and the 11th century. St. George’s Church is the oldest preserved building in Podgorica and is a part of a group of pre-Romanesque monuments. This church speaks of the rich history of Montenegro through its ancient walls and passageway that is believed to have led to Duklja, a medieval Serb state. The church has a small garden located close to it where visitors can relax and admire the church’s beauty.
