Hatadage is an ancient relic shrine and one of the top tourist attractions in Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka. Built by King Nissanka Malla in the 12th century, this site serves as a shrine to house the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. Many ancient inscriptions, including the Rajaveliya, mention that this site was built in only 60 hours. In Sinhalese, Hata means sixty and Dage means relic shrine, hence the name. The shrine is surrounded by a stone wall, has a decorated entrance gate, and some smaller doreways.
