About Army Museum, Port Dickson
The idea of establishing an Army museum was initiated in 1989. However, with the economic downfall and with the demand of Independence Memorial in Kuala Lumpur, the idea took a back seat. Later on, in 1999, the army began to take this idea seriously and realized that the establishment of a museum is necessary to preserve the struggling history of the Army base. Located near an Army base in Port Dickson, the Committee of the Association of the Army Museum was finally founded in 2000. It took nearly four years to complete the construction. Today, the museum houses two old army buildings, 9 galleries and a number of outdoor exhibitions. Visit the galleries where you get to see the history of the army dating back to the 16th century till the present time. Another remarkable gallery of the museum focuses on Japanese invasion, occupation and showcase interesting items belonging to that particular period.
In the outside region, you get to see steam locomotives, many military aircrafts, helicopters, armoured vehicles and numerous filled guns and artillery pieces.

Good place to visit when you are in PD. Its free and interesting. I went here wt 2 of my friends and we had a good time exploring and reading up about the history. Plus there are many cool old school military vehicles around the museum to take pictures with. It can get very hot here so dress light and drink lots of water.
A 'must' visit for any tourists to Port Dickson! A lot of artifacts from weapons, tanks, cannons, planes, etc. to historical figures, with proper description of events and timeline to Independence. Only wish that maintenance could be better as a few TV monitors and speakers are not working. Nevertheless, a highly recommended place to visit! And can't believe that it was free! Well done guys.
The best museum ever!!! Real authentic artifact. Well divided into specific era... chronologically. Pretty packed during holiday and weekend. During peak, have to park your car along the road outside of the museum compound.
Less parking space, but not so crowded on Saturday. It's more suitable for those foreigner or secondary school student to visit as a lot of historical wording written. It's a very clear guide of starting until the end of Malaysia history. It will mostly help secondary school student to increase their interested toward malaysia historical study. AS the story line were same as historical book.
Nice place for a visit if you are in Port Dickson. In addition to all the army vehicles on display, there are also displays on Malaysia's history and road to independence. Various personalities in the past describing their sacrificies and bravery also found. There is also a tunnel that depicts the life of the CPM recruits during the Emergency era. This tunnel leads out to a wooden walkway at tree level which kids will truly enjoy!
