Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas - Review

A must visit attraction in Port Douglas, the Wildlife Habitat is one of the best nature parks in Queensland. It gives visitors the opportunity to explore three distinct ecosystems filled with native flora and fauna. The Wildlife Habitat also has a unique activity where visitors can have “Breakfast with the Birds” or “Lunch with the Lorikeets”. Both activities can be pre-booked and allow visitors a chance to interact with the birds that visit your table while you enjoy a heart buffet meal in an outdoor tropical ambience.  The park also gives you an opportunity to interact with kangaroos, koalas, crocodiles and many more native animals. The meals are served in the Wildlife Café and there is also a souvenir and gift shop in the park.

  • I cannot say enough good things about this establishment, my husband and I enjoyed it very much. We booked a private zoo tour and they treated us better than most. They really know how to roll out the read carpet and treat you extremely well. We got to do everything on our bucket list; feed the cassowary, spend one on one time with a koala, etc. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I truly appreciate the immense hospitality and care these people give, they are amazing and so are all the animals, exhibits, and everything in between.

  • My Family and I loved coming here today! It was beautifully setup/designed and relaxing to spend 2-3 hours here. You are able to come back up to 5 visits in total. Nature and animals at their best.

  • Nice place to see Australian/Queensland fauna. They have immersive experiences where you can interact with some of the animals in the farm (feeding kangaroos, touching young crocodiles, ...). My daughter really liked it. Staff made it easy for us. We asked many questions (first visit to Australia for us) and got competent and friendly answers.

  • Having spent nearly thirty years in Australia, I have seen enough local wildlife. But this one is fantastic. As the name suggests, the habitats are classified. Variety and range are amazing. Be prepared to spend the time it deserves. Cheaper as a part of four park pass. DO NOT MISS

  • I highly recommend the nocturnal tour. It was a small group lead by a knowledgeable ranger. The tour began around 5.30pm & we spent some time with the kangaroos & crocodiles while the sun was setting before visiting the owls & other nocturnal animals. It was fantastic seeing these animals awake & moving around - after so many zoo visits where you were lucky to glimpse them sleeping inside a log! We got to feed meal worms to a Tawny Frogmouth & enter the cage with the little gliders.
