A must visit attraction in Port Douglas, the Wildlife Habitat is one of the best nature parks in Queensland. It gives visitors the opportunity to explore three distinct ecosystems filled with native flora and fauna. The Wildlife Habitat also has a unique activity where visitors can have “Breakfast with the Birds” or “Lunch with the Lorikeets”. Both activities can be pre-booked and allow visitors a chance to interact with the birds that visit your table while you enjoy a heart buffet meal in an outdoor tropical ambience.  The park also gives you an opportunity to interact with kangaroos, koalas, crocodiles and many more native animals. The meals are served in the Wildlife Café and there is also a souvenir and gift shop in the park.

  • Very nice place to visit with kids. Amazing opportunity to pet & feed kangaroos, birds, koalas and other animals. It is very compact and not glamorous like some major city zoo, but very friendly and joyful. If you get to Port Douglas with your younger ones, this is definitely a place to visit.

  • We had a fantastic time at the habitat. The animals are roaming freely around fairly large habitats. The experience is very interactive if you want it to be. I suggest you join the tours offered throughout the day. For example, during the bird tour, you can participate in feeding birds. The tours are very informative and offer further insight into the residents of the habitat. Seems like most of the animals were rescued and brought to the habitat. For A$2, you can get a bag of kangaroo food and get a chance to feed kangaroos if they feel like coming up to you to get some food. There are also two koalas you can observe from afar.

  • It is one of the best experiences and one that ticks a lot of boxes, including one of the biggest crocodiles you'll ever see, I'll bet! So many of Australia's most furry, cute creatures to feed, pet and interact with. Breakfast with the birds, I've done 3 times to date and am not done yet. The keepers are friendly and very knowledgeable. On my last visit the park was undergoing some major remodelling, which will be complete by now. Cannot recommend a visit to the Wildlife Habitat highly enough... It has this local guy, and his wife, going back again and again. For children, it is an absolute must.

  • Staff was great, the place was chock full of amazing animals! To be able to walk amongst them and then all not being in little cages was a great experience. Fed some kangaroos and watched as some of them snoozed and got a photo taken with Kody the Koala! Highly recommend the koala talk to learn more about them.

  • Excellent a wonderful place to view and interact with Australian wildlife up close. Feels much more natural than a Zoo with the animals roaming freely around in large habitats. Fun for all the family
