The Mpenjati Nature Reserve is situated on the KwaZulu-Natal province, 13 kilometers north of Port Edward. The reserve is situated within the Mpenjati River Lagoon and offers stunning surroundings that are spread over 66 hectares. Many bird species like water thick-knee, half-collared kingfisher, forest canary, red-capped robin-chat, brown scrub robin, and green twinspot can be spotted here. Other activities in the park include angling, boating, and swimming. The park is also home to one of the nude beaches of South Africa.
