Surrounding the huge and shallow Hogganfield Loch and the small island within it, the Hogganfield Park sprawls over 119 acres of lush green land. Abundant mature trees and the proximity of the water body create a safe abode for the native as well as migratory birds like coots, grebes, and ducks. The edge of the loch features a tarmac path that offers easy access to the park so that visitors can feed or observe the birds, some of which are rare. The Hogganfield Park has been acknowledged as a local Nature Reserve and you will enjoy running, hiking and cycling around. The children’s play area and the picnic tables set up by the loch are also notable.
