Lovely restaurant. Stored in for a cream tea, delicious soft scones for a decent price. Great decor inside and friendly staff
Lovely building. Understaffed for our visit, lunch ordered but coffee was made while you wait so order was not given in straight away, queue waited. Need better organising for orders. When my sandwich arrived it was on white sliced bread (something from a supermarket) I ordered brown hoping for something home-made! Not good for the price and disappointing! My colleagues had the soup of the day which was adequate. The Americano ordered was weak!
The location is good and the old school building is impressive. We popped in for lunch with the kids.I had the local haddock and chips ; fish was good, chips a little on the oily side. Kids menu was ok, felt for £7 they could include a drink or pudding. Wife didnt enjoy the halloumi burger, think it may have been deep fried and slightly over cooked. Three stars is a fair reflection on our experience.
Spent 2 nights here recently in the English room and loved it so much that we booked another 2 nights in September! Food is delicious too.
Rooms were lovely, friendly location, free breakfast was good as well as the restaurant.
