Overlooking the Indian Ocean, Le Souffleur Island is one of the lesser-known islands of Mauritius and is blessed with a rugged wild landscape. The lookout will let you get engrossed in watching the waves crashing against the rocks and rise up to fifteen to twenty metres. The main attraction here is the half-formed grotto from where the fountain rises up to the most height. It is better to take a local person from Savannah Sugar Estate who will help you find the grotto that sprouts water like a whale blowhole and the naturally formed bridge. Le Souffleur is formed by volcanic rocks and it offers a perfect picnic ambience in the salty wilderness.

Le Souffleur Reviews & Ratings
Your eye will come out on seeing this magnificent place
Look for the 'blowhole' and that's why it is named 'le souffleur'. It's a hidden treasure in the south coastline of Mauritius with gigantic waves crashing every few seconds against the lava rock offering a beautiful scenery of splashing water creating beautiful fountains which can reach up to 15m of height and its more spectacular during bad weather 😊. Here you can stay as long as you wish and enjoying the scene but some may be uncomfortable while the sea water spray blows in the air. It's an open space and you can visit anytime. Located in the south of Mauritius and more precisely in l'Escalier village via Omnicane Sugar Estate branch road. It is complicated by Google maps and faster if you goes by the unpaved and rocky roads which are surrounded by sugar cane fields. While driving you will come across many signs which will guide you to your destination. Lower cars are not advisable to take that route. No parking lot available as the path is rocky but you can park anywhere. You can have a short picnic break under the shades. On the same coastline about 1km you can visit Pont Naturel which is another mother nature beauty. Please for your own safety, respect the protection barrier and don't let kids alone.
