How to Reach Port Macquarie - The Easiest Way to Reach Port Macquarie

You can fly in by finding out which airlines have flights to Kingsford Smith International Airport, or you can fly to Sydney and after that either drive or take a bus (it is about an hour's drive from Sydney) the easiest way to get to Port Macquarie is by bus. Greyhound and Premier Motor Services have a schedule of multiple daily bus services between Port Macquarie and Sydney and Brisbane and you can contact them for a schedule. The nearest train station is about 20 min west of Port Macquarie in Wauchope. Another option is to drive down Oxley Highway, the dominant north-south highway in New South Wales.

Sadly, Port Macquarie does not have a regular, reliable public transport system in place at the moment - busses are irregular and often end their services early in the day. The best bus route is however the one that goes to Shelley Beach which will help the carless to get to the beach and light house.
