Port Macquarie is steeped in maritime history and the Mid North Coast Maritime Museum’s three venues offers you the ideal opportunity to view a heritage of over 100 years as each of them showcases several exhibits. The Museum consists of two cottages that were originally constructed in the year 1896 as pilot cottages. They now house a splendid collection of artefacts and memorabilia including well-built scale models of varied charts, vessels, maps, paintings as well as a great collection of pictures that portray the maritime history. The museum has been put together brilliantly and there’s also a little gift shop where you can get your hands on interesting items.
