Arriving at the Days Inn, I didn't expect much. I was surprised by the warm attendance of the woman behind the counter and the ease with which I got checked in. Heading to my room, I found it well furnished, clean, and without any kind of lingering odor. The beds are soft without swallowing me, although the pillows are a bit firm for my tastes. A miniature microwave and refrigerator, along with a large TV sat in a console, ready to use. Finding the entrance can be difficult at first but after a couple of times it became easy and lends a 'hidden wonder' quality to the location. I would gladly room here again.
They require a $150 deposit that they didn't warn us about until we'd already arrived (and we'd reserved before arriving). They also threaten to take out from the deposit if you accidentally bring a key card with you instead of leaving it in the room. A key card. These things cannot possibly cost more than $1 each. And they lose their magnetic properties that make them work if you get them within a foot of a cell phone or laptop, requiring you to go up to the front desk to fix it. Most sensitive buggers I've ever seen. The pillows are painfully firm with no alternatives, and while we reserved a room with a queen bed, we got what is clearly a full; they outright lied to us about the size. They outsource cleaning to a separate company not on site, so after early afternoon you cannot get towels or anything else you need. Housekeeping came into our room while we were gone and did the most terrible job I've ever seen. They left the covers a mess, clearly didn't change anything, and removed used washcloths and opened coffee cups from the room WITHOUT REPLACING THEM. So we came back to take a shower and all the washcloths were gone and the manager just did not care. Didn't offer to contact the company they use, didn't give us their number, nothing. Just outright glared at me the entire time as though I was ruining his night by even asking if anything could be done. The contempt he showed us was truly unreal. Also, they threaten people having guests over after a certain time with police, which is incredibly excessive when there are already enforced quiet hours. If they aren't making noise there is no point in threatening someone with a TRESPASSING CONVICTION. I tend to be generous with motels. They're supposed to be kinda cheap and not fantastic, fine. But staying here wouldn't even be worth half the price we paid, convenient location or no. I've never encountered a motel that cared this little about their customers and at this point I'm shocked at the lack of pests. Maybe I just got lucky. Edit: never mind. Got crawled on last night right before we left. If I could give a zero star review I'd do it. I'll likely be reporting just how awful this was to their corporate office. I wouldn't stay here again if someone gave me money to. Don't torture yourself.
Simple hotel for a quick get away easy to get into town no reason for a rental car. Would stay again
The manager or front desk guy was an absolute nightmare to deal with. Horribly rude and made my stay the worst. Made a big deal about fixing my room key and giving me 2 new towels because we left our do not disturb sign up while we were out exploring on our vacation
