During the last ice age, a cataclysmic event occurred, that left a lasting monument along the path of the mighty Columbia River. A great flood sheared away the land, leaving stone cliffs and water falls that form the world famous “Columbia River Gorge”. • One housekeeper selfishly used the elevator to go down when I said I was trying to go up, and then after that helped me figure out how to use the elevator card swipe. But most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Super comfortable beds. Cupcakes in the lobby in the afternoon. Complimentary bike checkout for guests. Good food in the restaurant. Pretty charming overall, and maybe the most comfortable bathrobe I've ever worn.

  • We had a wonderful stay. The hotel staff are absolutely fantastic, quick to greet you and happy to help suggest amenities or arrange whatever you need. The hotel and rooms are well kept, very clean. I appreciated the stocked kuerig and refrigerator in the room. And you certainly can't beat the location. The are across from the river front park and within walking distance of most downtown attractions. I couldn't get the room cool enough at night, though. Flip the duvets over, by the way, to help keep them from slipping off of you in the middle of the night. I also felt the price of the room was rather high, but it appears to be the going rate for this area of Portland. If we had the chance and maybe caught a low season price, I'd look forward to staying again.

  • Stayed at the Rose for the 2nd time this past long weekend, have also stayed at several other Pineapple Hotel properties as well. I really like the Pineapple Hotels and that includes the Rose. The hotel is sort of hip, and great location near the river and just a block from downtown. The rooms are nice, not too small and good attention to details and perks for their guests. That includes a Keurig coffeemaker in the room, free bottled water in the water as well, a small fridge and sink, nice shower, good bed and linens ,etc. Also, a free shuttle around the area if you wish and a nice bar off the lobby. Location is great, hotel and the rooms + perks are nice, staff is friendly and helpful, prices are pretty good given where you are and what you get. Hard to beat.

  • Rooms are economical. Very good service. Accommodating. Little privacy in the bathrooms, with sliding doors (doesn't lock) weak exhaust systems. Otherwise, fun stay.

  • We all loved staying at the rose hotel!! It was a wonderful place to stay for my bachelorette party! The beds were super comfy!! And they had great accommodations, like ice in individual bags for guests, pineapple water and cupcakes in the lobby. A restaurant with happy hour in the hotel, a coffee cart in the lobby when you check out. We have stayed in a pineapple hotel before in Seattle and we were not disappointed and I'm happy to see the good service continues in Portland, OR.
