Lemelson Vineyards, Portland Reviews
Unmistakably one of my top three favorite wineries in Oregon. The space is relaxing and the hosts are courteous. The pinots at Lemelson have a remarkably smooth, almost silky, mouth feel--delicious.
Rude and unfriendly staff. The Pinot was good, but there are great Pinots every where: in Dundee, Willamette Valley and Oregon as a whole. We planned to buy 6 bottles at least, but only bought two just so we didn't have to pay the insane tasting fee. Otherwise we would have bought none. My husband and I were the only one in the Tasting Room, so no excuse for poor service.
Lovely Oregon pinot, but awesome chardonnay. We'll be back!
While the location is amazing, and the wine was delicious the price for a tasting fee in my opinion is way too high. High for even the area, I understand it is more pricey than some other areas in Oregon but even for the Carlton area it was much higher than others in the surrounding area. Also we had a large group and called ahead to get pricing so everyone could budget accordingly and it was more than what we were told just the week before. We let them know the number of people as well as the weekend we were coming. We did end up staying here the longest and it was a great location and very relaxing. The price of the tasting fee was my only issue, mainly since we called ahead to arrange things for the Bachelorette party. Other than that it was a great place.
I was underwhelmed by the wine, and annoyed by the crowd here. It's a huge, new, attractive building, but that's about it. Not very personal or friendly. Might be better on a normal day, I was here on one of the big weekends (Thanksgiving).
