Listed on the National Register of Historic Places this graveyard has been active since 1846 even though it was only officially established in 1855. The 30 acres here have had over 25000 burials. There is a memorial here to the soldiers of the Indian Wars, Mexican-American War, the American Civil War and the Spanish-American War. A number of famous personalities have been buried here including painters, mirrors, Representatives, postmasters, governors and lawyers. That's not to say this is a graveyard for the elite. Everyone from Chinese immigrants to prostitutes to Asylum patients have been buried here. It is a beautiful and tranquil resting place.
