Staff was kind and informative, boat was well kept and fairly comfortable, bathrooms were well kept and we got to see so many whales! I asked one of the employees if it was so common to see this many and apparently not! We got to see a mother and calf (minke whales), about 4 other minke whales (different areas) and even one right next to the boat! We also saw harbor porpoises not too far from the boat (they were surprisingly boat tolerant), seals and multiple birds. Overall a great trip and money well spent.
We were pretty disappointed with this experience. We understand that we're going out into nature and can't expect to see a whale or other creatures constantly, but this trip was utterly boring. It was four hours of staring at water. We felt that the lack of seacreatures visible could have been filled with the crew sharing facts about the whales even though we didn't see any. The naturalist only shared fun facts about the birds we saw. We would have even enjoyed anecdotal information. Tell us about the first time you saw a whale! What was that like? It felt like a total waste of money and time for that reason.
Awesome time. Ended up being a great day. Tour guide was really good.
Only 1 whale but that's okay we saw a couple of other things we we're lucky the eclipse was going on at the time we went
My family and I have never been on a whale watch before and were hoping to see one. We were in for a real treat. Not only did we get to see seals, a fin back whale that stayed close to the boat for more than a half hour, and porpoises, but the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend the Odessey for something to do with your family or for a truly memorable date. We learned a lot about the area and it's wildlife. Thank you for a great afternoon.
