The hotel is being renovated. The new finishes are nice. You get what you pay for. It's a lot nicer than some of the other cheap airport hotels in the area. Would definitely stay there again!
The staff for the most part was nice. The girl was rude at the beginning because my friend and I got there about 30 minutes early and she said that was to early to check in but her tone was pretty snippy and rude. Then when it was time to go in she left my Id in the printer for nearly 45 minutes until I went to leave and realize she still had it. The room was nice though! Definitely worth more in my eyes than what I paid for. The only downside was it was away from the metro but if you have a car or like to walk you should be fine.
First pulling up to the reception it seemed okay. When I was given my room key and was going to my room the first thing I realized is that there was no elevator. When I asked the staff member where the room was located and how to access it she told me at the very end of the building. The doors were not marked so I had no idea which door to enter. When I found the right door there were cigarette boxes everywhere cigarette buds everywhere. Completely dirty. I then finally got my luggage up the stairs. And when I found my room the first thing that I noticed was the carpets were filthy there was garbage in the hallway outside the door the room next to mine smell like marijuana. I opened my room door went in immediately notice the floors were dirty as these were wood floors. The blanket on the bed had some type of white residue on it and some type of crusty object. I immediately called the front desk and she brought me up keys to a new room. Which was at the very end of the hall. When I got into the room it was clean. But later on that evening when I pulled the blankets back noticed the mattress had blood stain on it. The experience and people sleeping in their cars in the parking lot gives this barely a one.
I have stayed in some of the finest hotels around the world. I stayed at this location as a spur of the moment road trip. I was pleasingly surprised. The hotel was clean. The staff was friendly. The bed was comfortable. My daughter and I felt comfortable. The rate was fantastic, and we will plan to stay at this location when we visit Portland again. It is true, you cannot judge a book by its cover. Don't make the mistake of missing out on a great deal in a central location.
Clean sheets and cool staff. Right near a nice cafe an library. Respect
