This is a massive Century, almost 12000 acres worth of land used for the preservation of wildlife but also recreationally. Activities such as hunting, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and a bird-watching are very common here. It is a mixed landscape, combining uplands, forests, marshes, water bodies, hiking trails, meadows. There are roughly three hundred species of wildlife here, and of days almost 250 of these species are birds. The entire area is criss-crossed and dotted with water bodies such as channels and streams and lakes. This is not the mostwell-developed area so don't expect drinking water and restrooms. And some seasons hunting may be restricted so make sure you're clear about permits. Highlights and landmarks include the Wapato Access State Greenway, Oak Island, Coon Point, Sturgeon Lake, Blue Heron Herbary, Kruger's Farm Market, The Pumpkin Patch, Sauvie Island Blueberry Farm, Sauvie Island Farms, Moar Lake, and Viewing Platform.

  • I have been to the Sauvie Island farms many times so I already knew this is a great place to visit. This was my first time on the Island early in the morning. The landscape was absolutely stunning with the early morning mist. The beaches were empty and so peaceful just waiting for someone to come enjoy. This is a perfect place to bring the kids and dogs for an early morning walk on the beach.

  • Peaceful, quiet, serene and close to home.

  • Good upland and waterfowl hunting.
