Built in the 1760’s after the Seven Year’s War, Neues Palais is considered to be the last Prussian-Baroque palace in the city. The architecture of the place with the high dome and colonial design, grab your attention straightaway and is a treat by itself!

The Palace occupies the western side of the Sanssouci Park and is loved for its rich banquet halls, galleries, gorgeous suites and the stunning Baroque palace theater.

The palace’s lavish 18th century art collection is second to none and is the highlight of the place. A walk here as you tour its grounds and listen to the gleaming stories, is an absolute must during your stay in the city.

Neues Palais, Potsdam Reviews - Write a Review

  • Ok place, still in reconstruction but attention to details seems missing in reconstruction work at many places.

  • We arrived at 17h05 at the tickets store so we couldn't buy the ticket for the grand tour. We paid 6€/person for the small tour. (12 rooms 15mins of visit. No audio guide but a map that tell you few informations) +3€ to take pictures. The personnel is not cool at all. They watch you all the time while you are visiting. And they barely speak English so they seem a bit agressive. The castle is splendid so I would still recommend to go there but before 17h so you can buy grand tour ticket with audio guide.

  • Really interesting and large place, with a lot of history and interesting rooms. It has ongoing renovations / restoration work, but the rooms available are still large and impressive and interesting. Can only visit as part of a timed tour, which can be in German with the guideu, or using an audioguide of your language of preference. The rooms are large so I never felt cramped with the other visitors on the tour, and never felt rushed on to the next room. Definitely worth the walk from Sans Souci

  • so good for take a picture

  • It was very beautiful and there was no nearly enough time to take pictures. FYI, it cost 3 euro to take photos inside, however the photo bracelets are good at all palaces once purchased provided you visit all the palaces in one day. Also, they have pay toilets. The varies by location.
