Pottuvil or Pothuvil or Poththuvil (Sinhala:පොතුවිල්)(Tamil: பொத்துவில்) is a town in the Ampara District of Sri Lanka, located on the eastern coast of the Island. It is situated 4 km (2.5 mi) north of the popular tourist destination Arugam Bay. Pottuvil was affected by 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. The town's population in 2007 was 33,625.
