It will be both disheartening and enchanting at the same time to visit the Roman Necropolis that is dipped in rich history and yet is left in ruins. Although three sections including the Temple of Serapis and the Amphitheatre is now restored, most of the area is covered in overgrown weeds and the interior stairs and walls are in very precarious condition. Dating back to 1st and 2nd century AD, the Roman Necropolis also features a Columbarium or mausoleum with two rooms, porticoed corridor, courtyard and rectangular classrooms with balconies.
