Church of St Castulus can be best portrayed as a Gothic basillica arranged at the site of a previous Roman church. This congregation used to reside here and is certainly one of the finest samples of Gothic building design in the city.

The congregation was made in the fourteenth century and is said to be made by the Teutonic Knights. It is said that around the congregation, exactly at Hastalske Square (Hastalske namesti) there used to be a graveyard at the time. The gothic church was assembled again in the Baroque. One of the legends also calls it the place where the remains and insignia of St. Agnes of Bohemia were buried. Some remains were really seen but further research proved that this was not the case.

The Church of St Castulus was completely damaged during the floods in the year 2002 and has not fully recovered yet due to the lack of financial resources.
