Formerly known to be the fourth largest sports venue in the world, the Great Strahov stadium dates back to 1926 with major remodeling and additions done in 1932, 1948 and 1975. The stadium was built to showcase synchronized gymnastics and in its heyday could seat 220,000 people (considered to be a controversy in itself)! Today the stadium is known for hosting live music concerts and is a training center for AC Sparta Prague. The most memorable match here has to be the one that was played a few days after the Second World War ended when the teams of the US army competed in a football match here.

The stadium consists of 9 football pitches with a total of 310.5 x 202.5 meters of pitch area and if there is a trending event here, you are sure to come to a sold-out show! The funicular ride to the stadium is a highlight in itself and is a must-try when you are in Prague.
