K G B Museum - Review
The KGB basically stands for the Committee for State Security and was the initial name of the primary Soviet secret service. Visitors can get to experience a lot of historical recreations here. You can have hands on feel of the objects and methods used by the higher functionaries in the Soviet Union back in the day. There are some unusual exhibits, such as Lenin's death mask, the gun that killed Trotsky, the radio from Beria's office, and KGB laboratory facilities. The tours are guided and accompanied by a thoroughly well informed guide who will have a lot of information to give to you.

K G B Museum, Prague Reviews
Thought this would be interesting but visited today Sept 15 on a Saturday it was closed at mid day. Went for lunch came back back still closed. Sign said they are open every day except Mondays. I get that this is a small business but you had many other people , like us , all tourists wondering also. We met at least 10 on your street...No sign on door saying why closed. I guess one needs to message the owner before showing up ?
Interesting place. Owner is an eccentric guy, really good with his audience. He walks you around the room, pointing out items of interest and how they were used. He touches on the history of the Russian secret service, but the vast majority of the time is spent on demonstrating how each tool is used to execute someone. Really fun but probably wouldn't recommend for small kids. Lasts about 70 min.
The owner is extremely animated and seeing his passion is worth the visit alone. Lots of small pieces in his collection; I would have liked to been able to stay a bit longer to admire the items a little longer. He really knows how to help you get a good photo!
Outstanding side visit while in Prague. Near American Embassy, off the Mala Strada. The museum director / owner / proprietor delivers a unique and humorous educational experience. Definitely worth a visit!
Eccentric guide. Amazing personal collection of cold war and Soviet Union memorabilia. Watching him is as much a part of the tour as gawking at the range of weapons on display. Do not miss this.
