Kampa Island is basically Prague’s answer to Venice. It is one of the most romantic places in Prague. This island is separated from the city on two sides. On one side it is separated by the mighty Vltava and the other side by the Devil’s stream. Legend goes that ‘Devil’s stream’ was named after a vicious woman who had a very sharp tongue and lived in the vicinity. You can feel yourself get transported to medieval times as you wander amidst gorgeous surroundings. Kampa Island has a beautiful English style park and also an incredible museum that deserves a visit. The best way to get to Kampa is to enjoy a walk over Charles Bridge in the direction of the Lesser Town and then walk down the stairs to the island. While you’re there, don’t forget to head to Grand Priory Square, where you will find the famous Lennon Wall on which you can write a tribute to the legendary artist.
