It was a amazing place. I went there a bit late to enter the Palace. But the architecture outside is significant to see. It is worth to visit. I am lucky to see the military guard exchanges.
Great view over the old town of Prague. Great for areal pictures. A lot of people here during midday, you'll do best to visit in the morning or late afternoon. There is a security checkpoint to get inside the castle area, the cue might seem long but it's quite fast. A few cafes and restaurants in the area but almost none takes credit cards so make sure to bring some cash. If you want to go inside you'll do best to buy your tickets before to avoid the lines.
How often do you get a chance to walk around in an authentic Gothic palace. The main hall has beautiful helical vaults and is used today for political ceremonies. You can see the room where one of the (the second?) defenestration occurred. It was a lot of fun.
mostly - only raw walls. few of them were ancient painted, but for me nothing special. place is also empty - no furniture (only a few), no anything inside.
I really enjoyed the old royal palace and seeing the different views of Prague from the castle. The throne room and to see the royal jewels is a really cool experience but it will probably be crowded. There is a stairway to a second floor where there are several family crest frescos.
