Herrontown Woods Arboretum is a park that is spread over an expanse of 142 acres. And while it is available for the people all year round, it has a No Charge policy. Walking trails take you meandering through the wilderness, however, bicycles are not allowed. Being an arboretum you will get to observe a number of species of plants and trees here. Pine forests and wetlands dominate the woods, and 30 species of shrubs, trees and flowers flaunt their beauty here. Rare birds, magnetite, and different types of frogs are found here. The park came into being in the year 1957, and has, since then, been a favourite getaway for families, friends and youngsters alike.

  • A favorite walking place, good for people and dogs. Almost all wooded, with varied terrain - you can get a good climb. You'll encounter very few people.

  • Fantastic nature preserve... great hiking for younger munchkins 4+ or 3 with extra help from m&d! Very muddy after rain... but with wellies it's not bad at all! Great day!!

  • Went on a nature walk with experts about amphibians and plants. It was fabulous. Herrontown Woods is a treasure. Please support the group working to preserve it.

  • So glad they are restoring native vegetation. Saw a pleated woodpecker and wood thrush last year. Top quality habitat!
