Went for the Pondy Cycle Tour. It's Rs 1500 if you contact them directly, while TripAdvisor charges 1700. Its a 2 hour tour where the lovely host Manisha takes you through the French and Tamil quarters of the town, constantly feeding you tidbits about the place. After the tour you also get a breakfast, choice of continental or South Indian. A good activity to do on your first day in Pondicherry. Especially for a solo traveller, you get to meet fellow travellers.
a good cultural centre to explore about the local culture and have a detour of beautiful pondy!
Lakshmi was great, showing me several different ways to wear a sari. She even offered to help me shop for a sari next time I'm in Pondy. At reception I was given a much appreciated map of Pondicherry. A lovely group of people, committed to promoting their culture and expanding the world of each and every visitor.💕
Really lovely place to go to. They take you around and show you the distinctly different parts of Pondi, telling you the nicest little snippets and facts that make the trip that much more enriched. She speaks english, hindi, and tamil fluently. But she knows exactly what’s going on where ever you’re from and the lingo in respective languages, around the country and outside, making you feel really comfortable even if alone. The breakfast at the end (I had the south indian option) is really lovely too.
