Ruinas De San Ignacio Miní, Puerto Iguazú Reviews
Great for historia. Pretty sad how they charge a good amount per ticket and treated my family different once they found out my wife and 2 sons were not from Argentina. Plus be careful when parking if you have your own car, guy sits outside charging for parking for spot that are actual public parking spaces.
Though there is not much to see here, and I mean, in less than hour and a half you'll get through the entire ruins, there is much history to learn. There is a brief explanation of the history behind the ruins when you first get in, but it is all in Spanish. However, to learn specific architecture and design of the monastery, there are pre-recorded audios inside, in the main building, in 4 other languages: English, German, Portuguese, and Russian. The latter one, I may be mistaking by another one. The most amazing experience is at night, when sound and visual effects recreate the ruins to the original architecture.... It is a fantastic experience, as if you had traveled back in time. If you are looking for a nice and cozy hotel, I strongly recommend Hosteria, which is a few blocks down the road from the ruins. It's a family owned business and they're the loveliest. Enjoy!
Spectacular jesuit mission. Visiting this place you can learn a lot about the history of the jesuits and their achievements and struggles in this region of argentina/paraguay/brasil. This one is the best preserved of the missions together with Trinidad in Paraguay
Spectacular night... Music... Lights... And a great time at the ruins
Interesting. Get to know the history of a special place - where the relation of natives and new arrivals was not dominated by abuse but by respect for each others ways.
