I loved the ruins as much as Iguazu Falls. I could easily spend an entire day here taking photos and exploring the ruins. Really gorgeous. excellent place to stop for a long picnic.
This is a greatly preserved/ restored historical site - a testament to the ingenuity and scale of the Jesuit Reductions. Here, tour guides can take you through the rooms, the Church, the production areas, the library and the dining areas from hundreds of years ago, when the Society of Jesus organized indigenous peoples from across Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil to form a cultural - economic network. A true window into the past.
Be willing to walk, take a bottle o water with you and enjoy an extraordinary journey to history in the northeast of Argentina. Listen to the guides and then go back to history books to learn more about what happened to the aborigines and the Jesuits in the Americas.
Really cool ruins. Did as part of the missiones pass of 3 sets of ruins and these definitely the best.
Great for historia. Pretty sad how they charge a good amount per ticket and treated my family different once they found out my wife and 2 sons were not from Argentina. Plus be careful when parking if you have your own car, guy sits outside charging for parking for spot that are actual public parking spaces.
