Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Mandai - Review
Built in the year 1886 by the Britishers, the colonial building that houses the Phule Market is an architecturally stunning one. With 8 wings and 8 entrances/ exits, the Mandai building is spread across 8 acres bang in the heart of the old city area. The market itself has over 500 stalls with vendors selling fresh vegetables and fruits every day. Just outside the market you will find vendors selling items required for pooja and aarti along with fresh flowers.

Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Mandai, Pune Reviews
It's one of the old and well known market in Maharashtra and specially in Pune. The main building is quite attractive and beautiful. The architecture is very interesting and during night time it looks even more beautiful. One can find everything in this market. Right From vegetables and fruits to the kitchen groceries.
The best place in Pune to do vegetable shopping, or typical Indian worship materials, especially maharashtrian customs, also good place for general shopping. A bit ahead you have place for electrical shopping and then going straight you reach Appa Balwant Chowk ( aka ABC) where you get all type of books and stationary.
The vegetables markets is the oldest but dirty too. If you want good deal go here.
Its a huge market of all types of fresh vegetables at best prize. Even for Fruits, spices and much more things. But Its closed on Saturday. There are 2 PMC parking lots (Gadital) for 2 wheeler & 4 wheeler, please do not park your vehicle anywhere because of the RTO agents. Once I had park my 2 wheeler & there is nothing like NO PARKING board at the particular place but they charged fine Rs 200/- for that, its ridicules.
