Pu La Deshpande Garden - Review

Spread across 10 acres, the Pu La Deshpande Garden or Pune-Okayama Friendship Garden (named after a prominent Marathi writer), is inspired by the 300 year old Okayama Korakuen Garden. Hence, this garden is also known as the Japanese Okayama Friendship Garden. A fabulous place to visit with your family, the garden boasts of lush green lawns, gurgling streams with beautifully coloured fishes and small hutments where visitors can take refuge from the sun, Artificial hills and Forest.

Pu La Deshpande Garden, Pune Reviews

  • An amazingly beautiful and exhilarating place!!!! Must visit if you are a nature lover. Beautiful landscaping and a very well maintained garden. Just for an entry fee of 5 rupees, one can have a wonderful time in garden. Water streams and colorful flowers and a small waterfall makes the garden unique. Just loved this place.

  • Hey Non-Punekars, if down in Pune do visit this place called Okayama Friendship Garden. It is a Japanese styled theme based garden with a picturesque scenery. Also, there is a water fall, and small streams of water where you can put your legs and enjoy with your friends, family, this amazing view. The garden is well maintained and took care off. Kudos to everyone who manage this place.

  • Ambience : ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The green dominates in all the directions, a cool breeze to your face, making the park splendid for an evening wanderers. The artificial creek is a bonus. People 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦: ⭐⭐⭐ Mostly family, often couples dominate the seats. Walkers..., well..., walk! For people like me expecting a calm and relaxing place, beware, the kids have a plan of their own. Maintenance: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The grass and trees are well maintained even in the summer. The place is well-kept. I was startled stepping on a squeeky wooden bridge. Location 📍: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Definitely a prime locality, easily accessible, street food outside.

  • The garden is really well maintained but I couldn't find anything japanese here. Maybe there's a thing or too that I missed but it looked like a simple garden to me anyways. It has a small waterfall which looks great and the garden is covered with huge trees from all sides. There's also one area where you can actually get into water and enjoy a different experience. The garden has one big fountain in the center and also a high ground where you can click pictures.

  • Good place to hangout for children and adults. You can walk around garden and enjoy nature. Avoid going on weekends since it's crowded. Best time to visit at morning when it's less crowded. Children can enjoy playing outside near parking. Eating is strictly forbidden in garden. Please avoid garbage and nuisance in garden. It's very beautiful place within city limits.
