Bedi Hanuman Temple - Review
This is another small temple is Orissa, located near the sea. From the architectural point of view, the outer walls of the temple is its highlighted features. On these walls, images like Anjana holding a baby on her lap, deity of Lod Ganesha and many other images are carved on it.
From religious point of view this temple holds a special place for the devotees of Lord Hanuman. The name itself defines its religious aspect. Legend says, that Lord Hanuman used to stay near the sea to protect Puri from the fury of the sea waves. However, when Lord Jagannath came to Puri, the Sea God entered Puri to pay his respect. As a result, water started entering into the city. Seeing such disastrous consequence, Lord Jaganntha questioned Lord Hanuman about his absence and his disloyalty towards his duty. And to punish him, Lord Jagannath chained him for which the deity of the temple is known as Bedi Hanuman.
Visit this temple during festivals like Hanuman Jayanti, Pana Sankranti and Ramam Navami, when the whole place premise is lit up with candles.

Bedi Hanuman Temple, Puri Reviews
We visited Puri atleast 15 times but this is the first time we visited this Bedi Hunuman Temple. When we a group of 4 (we 2 sister and our husbands) entered in the temple, 5 pandas came and for offering puja they give us something small round shaped , news paper wrapped prasad @ 20/- and told our husband to stay in front of the hanuman ji and advise us, both the sisters, to go to the next deity since only ladies are allowed to visit that deity. In front of the second deity one panda suddenly given a small thing in my hand and before realizing he closes my hand and tell me to surround the temple without talking to any one, after completing the pradakshin when I came there I heard the same panda is telling my sister just now your sister has agreed to pay 500/- (obviously I have not ) you should also pay the same and my sister is not agreeing to pay. When I heard this conversation I told the panda that I didn't tell you anything . Then the panda snatched the thing which he had given in my hand, I saw it is a statue of 1.5 inch height of hanuman ji, cost of Rs.25/- hardly. The main tricks of them is to separate everybody. At that time we were not aware about the condition of our husbands, same thing happened to them also , they were also asked not to talk with each other and a small statute of hanuman ji (1inch height) given to my Bros-in-law & asked to pay Rs.1000/- and a bangle of golden colour to my husband and forced for Rs. 500/- In the name of puja, they snatched from us total 700/-. This is the experience of ours (2nd week of Sept.'18).. Now visitors will decide about their visit. We met another group of tourist also in the same temple, they told last time they have also faced the same incident.
The place where Hanuman is guarding Puri from sea as per order of Lord Jagannath with his legs bound with chain so that he won't ran away to Ayodhya. With such mythological belief people go there, but priests try to rub devotees. So go and just have the darshan with closed ears. By the way place is calm and quite to spend some spiritual moments.
The temple is overall good but only the temple, once you enter it you will doubt about having any money left with you after you come out. Inside the temple there is a group of priests charging money for every single thing, i had visited this place last year with my mom and grandfather, as soon as my mom entered the premises a protocol was made that Father's and Son's should not see her worshiping. Later we came to know that she was forced to wear a bangle and was charged for Rs 400. Besides, they were forcing everyone with small items such as an ordinary string, a coin and Sweets, etc for Rs 10. They even charge Entry fees which is quite uncommon in case of temples. Even if you refuse to take, they simply snatch your hand say a few good words and take away your money. We made a loss of Rs 430 in total there. Puri Government should really take some decision.
Don't visit if visit then be careful There are group of preist forcing you to do many things when you take blessings and just you are returning then they will tell you pay ₹40 and they will have 1 small 5₹ bhog and ₹10 Sindoor and tell this is prashad and just after they take your hand and wore immediately a bangle and tell give ₹300 and after they will wore a orange band on hand and tell give ₹50 this experience I meet yesterday total I had to pay ₹350 FRAUD PREIST BE CAREFUL AFTER BLESSINGS GO OUT FROM TEMPLE PREIST WILL CALL YOU DON'T LISITEN
