Chilika Lake, Puri Reviews

  • It's the biggest lake of India. It's water is salty as it is connected to the Bay of Bengal. Very nice place to travel. Winter is the best time to go there. Dolphins are seen within the lake. Boats are available to go inside. Many beautiful birds come here from many countries during the winter.

  • Great place but due to some internal fight the dolphin ferry starts further away from dolphin habitat. So it is a long ride. Rates for boats with red crab (mostly in a basket) dolphin is ₹ 3250. One boat per family, no sharing with others. So better to go in big groups. 6 people per boat.

  • Biggest fresh water lake, as due to rains and dirty water dolphins were not seen. Money saving tip: Go for 850 rs boat and ask the boating guy to take to more points by giving him 250 rs additional. Dolphins eat fish which in turn moved in fresh water after rains.

  • Nice beach... enjoyed... water is more salty compare to other beaches, hard to take bath but once in a while it's good to go n have yourself relaxed.

  • 1. Good to visit in winter. 2. Makes your trip better with dolphin sightings (if you are lucky enough). 3. Nice boat rides. 4. Must not go for fake gem-stones. 5. Satpada point is better for dolphin sightings.
