About Pushkar Lake, Pushkar
Anybody residing in India would be well aware of Pushkar Lake. It is considered to be a holy lake that attracts a lot of pilgrims who come here to carry out their religious rites. The lake is close to the famous temple of Sri Brahma, one of the very few in India. This was a place where Lord Brahma (the creator of this world) prayed with Mata Savitri. What makes this lake conspicuous that it is surrounded by 52 bathing Ghats and more than 500 Hindu temples are situated around its borders. Pilgrims throng in large numbers to take a sacred bath here, especially around Kartik Poornima (October–November) when the Pushkar Fair is held. A dip in the sacred lake is believed to cleanse sins and cure skin diseases. Apart from its religious significance, this lake also adds beauty to the city of Pushkar in Ajmer.

The lake is said to have been created by the blessings of Lord Brahma and the surrounding city is one of the oldest in India. The city of Pushkar is also known for its Brahma temple, one of the few sites in the world dedicated to the Hindu god of creation.
Clean and spiritual place. Narrow roads outside lake. Too many shops and restaurants there. You can get anything but locals looted there if you are unaware of prices. Many restaurants have great view of Pushkar lake. If you want to visit go there by foot so you can visit easily and everything in market.
One of the most peaceful places in India. You will find the only Brahma temple here. Beware of pundits who offer packages of seva to clean sins. Be a joyful Traveller and explore such a beautiful place.
In the history of Indian temples there are very few temple dedicated to Lord Bramha and this is one of them. The temple is located amidst the old city, market. The Pushkar lake is considered holy, but the water is not clean and very slippery.
It was really nice experience on boat. But the island that is built over here is not nice, as it is small in size and nothing to attract exist. Thank you.
