Manastirea Putna, popularly known as the Putna Monastery, is a site of great historical significance located in Putna. It is basically a Romanian Orthodox monastery, established by Prince Stephen the Third, fondly referred to as Prince Stephen the Great. He had the habit of creating a religious building after each victory, and started building this one after he won the battle in 1466.
