Growing grapes is a delicate art, more so, if the end product is wine. What Burgundy is to France, Otago is to New Zealand! A wine connoisseur’s paradise, Gibbston Valley Wines is New Zealand’s finest wine producing hub. Renamed the ‘Valley of Wines’, the weather conditions of the Gibbston Valley keep swinging into the extremes, making this feat of producing top quality pinot noir, chardonnay, pinot gris, riesling and sauvignon blanc all the more commendable. Enjoy a fine wine & dine experience with award winning tours and private tours with veteran winemakers.

  • Perfect place to stop for some wine tasting. Fantastic wines. Grab a spot by the fire in winter to warm up or outside in the sunshine. Delicious platters available so make sure you have one of those.

  • Good restaurant to have good lunch and dinner. Wide selection of wines as the restaurant owns by Gibbston Winery. The food is very good, however the wines, although wide selection, are rather "traditional" in taste and not exclusive, for example like Black Ridge. Be careful to dine during public holiday as the restaurant charges 15% additional as surcharge for public holiday, which I find inappropriate as it was not mentioned by the staffs when I reserved a table over the phone.

  • What a stella afternoon with Paddy, the worlds best wine cave tour guide. The selection was supremely crafted, the food delectable and the scenery gorgeous. Particularly loved our guides attention to detail and extensive knowledge of wine making. 11/10 for this unique afternoon in Otago, New Zealand 🍷✨

  • Great place for wine tasting and some good food. The adjacent building also offers local variety of cheeses with great service to boast. The wine tasting is excellent with small tasting options for as low as 5 NZ$. Make sure to try their Pinot Noir!

  • A great winery with cheese shop door. Good food also
