Milford Sound, Queenstown Reviews
Expected à longer boat ride for some reason, I thought the place was so much bigger than this. But what we were bale to see, as still amazing, with rain one second and sun the next, waterfalls everywhere, dolphins, seals lying on the rocks. Loved the ride :) went with southern Discoveries, I don't recommend going to 1.30pm as it's the time where all the Buses with hundreds of tourists take the boat. I also am a tourist but it's just me. A hundred of Asians and another hundred of Indians having no respect whatsoever for you or anyone else is nerve wrecking after a 2 hour-ride.
What can I sah? It's probably the most beautiful piece of nature I have ever came across. It's just mesmerizing to look around you, waterfalls on both sides, seals, mountain shapes which were out of Jurassic park movie. Awesome place that must see
If you've come all the way to New Zealand you MUST visit a SOUND Whether it is Milford Sound, Doubtful or Marlborough, you have to see at least ONE. These are majestic rises of land that are really fjords. The water, the valleys and scenery give you great appreciation for Mother Nature and all her beauty. To see this at its best you ought to plan a day long cruise. You can even take a tour that includes a bus that picks you up from your hotel and takes you to the dock. We did this from our hotel in Queensland to Milford Sound. Truly a marvelous addition to your New Zealand trip.
Absolutely stunning - soaring peaks, sheer rock walls, abundant seals and birds, cascading waterfalls. Well worth the trip from Te Anau - the road in alone is an incredible mountain drive with the Homer Tunnel literally carved through solid rock.
I can tell you this is the best nature place I have ever been. Everything is stunning, the valley, the waterfalls. Our cruise went very close to one of the waterfalls. A rainbow was just a couple meters in front of us. Visiting the sound is definitely a must do in the NZ.
