About Queenstown Gardens, Queenstown

Another feather in New Zealand’s cap, the Queenstown Gardens is a botanical garden that, within its premises, houses a wide variety of flora, both exotic and native. With a waterfront peninsula, the garden is surrounded by The Remarkables and Lake Wakatipu. If you’re good at aiming, bring along a Frisbee and try your hand at New Zealand’s first ever Frisbee golf course. If not, take a stroll in the garden, feed the ducks, read a book in the lap of nature or just lie back and bask in the sun…

  • Always worth a stroll through the gardens. New rose beds are coming on well. The wee bridge is great for photos and there's Frisbee golf here.

  • Been coming to QT for years and never went to the gardens. OMG it become my morning routine once I discovered it! It's quiet, the views are beautiful, and you feel like your miles from town. It's a great little area for a meditative walk or for exercise. I saw a few mountain bikers as well if you're into that. There's a series of gravel and paved walkways so not everyone has to take the same route. Oh there's also disc golf too.

  • beautiful gardens. the ducks were so funny. they are used to people so if you bring bread they will hunt you down! You can literally stop amd smell the rose here, it was great.

  • Nice place to walk around in the afternoon, especially before sunset. Cherry and flower blossom during Spring! (Much better than other botanical garden elsewhere)

  • A nice place to wind down after a day of adventure, or a quiet place to start your day. Nice paths and plenty of green for everyone to enjoy.
