About Queenstown Gardens, Queenstown

Another feather in New Zealand’s cap, the Queenstown Gardens is a botanical garden that, within its premises, houses a wide variety of flora, both exotic and native. With a waterfront peninsula, the garden is surrounded by The Remarkables and Lake Wakatipu. If you’re good at aiming, bring along a Frisbee and try your hand at New Zealand’s first ever Frisbee golf course. If not, take a stroll in the garden, feed the ducks, read a book in the lap of nature or just lie back and bask in the sun…

Queenstown Gardens, Queenstown Reviews

  • We hadn't planned on visiting this garden..But since we were staying close to it and since its pretty bright till very late in the evening we decided to go.. and believe me it was an experience in itself! There are trees you can climb ..Swing on ropes which have been tied to a few trees..Small streams for water play..and of course just lay back and relax.the lake (beach)is just a couple of minutes from the garden. We ended up visiting it thrice in our 3 nights stay at Queenstown..Awesome experience..Highly recommended especially if u have kids.

  • Definitely a must stop if you visit Queenstown. 5 min or less walk from the Central Business District. Lots of path, walking options to choose from. The path near the lake is beautiful and unpaved--great view of the lake adventures people are having, rocks to sit on. The upper path that takes you to the rose gardens is paved and has a more curated feel.

  • Excellent option for a walk. But be careful with people playing 'frisbee golf'! There is an area where people play this and sometimes they miss their throw. The flower gardens were very well tended and there were she very large redwoods. While in Queenstown, save one hour or two to walk in the gardens.

  • Great landscaping with amazing lake views. Pond with ducks. Very well maintained and clean

  • Always a very beautiful place to walk. I can always find a quiet place to sit and unwind.
