T.s.s Earnslaw - Review

Apart from its spectrum of adventure sports, the other reason why people keep coming back to Queenstown is due to its scenery. One of the many boat cruises you should take whilst in Queenstown is the T.S.S Earnslaw. The cherry on the icing here is that not only do you see a whole new side of Queenstown, you also get to explore the century old vintage Edwardian steamship. Sail on the waters of Lake Wakatipu for a full 90 minutes and use them to your advantage the visit the steam room, the mini-museum full of pictures of the by-gone era and the bridge to name a few. There’s a Promenade cafe should you wish to just knock back a cold one and take in the view(s).

  • Love love loved our trip on the Milford Wanderer Overnight Cruise. When people ask how we liked New Zealand, I always start with the Milford Sound. I think the overnight aspect was worth it by itself because you get more of a full day in the sound that with the day tours. The bus ride to the Sound wasn't too bad, great time to catch up on some jet lag sleep. Beautiful stops along the way. Upon arriving we were able to hop on a dinghy and caught the sunset from the water. Absolutely beautiful, and accompanied with an informational overview from our guide. Dinner was at shared tables with other couples, so you're able to chat and make some friends. Waking up in the Sound was so peaceful and surreal. Have your camera batteries charged, because every second is picture-worthy. My husband surprised me with a return flight to Queenstown with Real Journeys and it was SO worth it. Incredible views that you can't get anywhere else. Would recommend to anybody!

  • Staff members were very friendly and professional. It was snowing heavily and they let us in before their opening hours which was a huge relief. Our trip was cancelled due to road closure but they handled everything really well and even offered to organize taxis for us. We decided to give milford sounds another go with them and hopefully weather permits.

  • I have been taking trips on The Earnslaw since I was a little girl and it is possibly the BEST trip you could take whilst visiting Queenstown. I absolutely love it and the staff are super helpful and very informative. Walter Peak station is just beautiful and well worth a look. You can chose a lunch or dinner cruise and they run until the late evenings in summer.

  • Staff here are very knowledgeable and helpful. We took a few different trips but the TSS Earnslaw steamboat over to Walter Peak was the best. The tour at the farm was equally great even for a Kiwi farmboy! Thanks for the great family experience team!

  • Spent the day going to Milford Sound. Brian, our guide, was welcoming, informative and super friendly. Paid extra for the front of the bus and it was worth it. Views were other-worldly. Ship tour ... breathtaking. Super staff there too. Top notch experience!! Thanks to Brian and the entire staff. I want to do the overnight on the Sound now!!
