Ngarunui Beach, Raglan Reviews

  • Great local beach! This beach is just a short drive (50 min) from Hamilton so i visit frequently. The lifeguards do a great job as the beach can have strong swell and currents. Changing rooms and toilets are provided. Parking can be busy but they do have overflow parking at the top. Beach access is steep via stairs (depending on where you parked) and a paved ramp but is manageable for all fitness levels. I have seen people take carts on wheels so i assume a wheelchair or pram would be doable.

  • Huge expansive beach, very clean. Patrolled. Great waves. Long drops, showers and running water. Surf boards and wetsuits for hire. Beautiful views every angle. Everything you want/need. Be aware there is a bit of a walk from the overflow car parks when busy.

  • Such a beautiful beach. Long wide and flat. Waters are absolutely beautiful here as well. It is a bit out of the way from Auckland, it's better to go to Raglan for a few days and visit here. Very popular with body boards.

  • The beach is black sand beach and one of the long beach n beautiful. It is best suited for sea surfing. One the beach there is life guard available and also small shop which provides surfing boards and wet suits. The toilets, shower and changing rooms are available too. Would love to visit again.

  • Lovely black sand beach. Gets some good waves if you're coming here for surfing.
