The city of Raleigh is the capital of the state of North Carolina in the United States and the second most populous city of the State after Charlotte. The city is affectionately called the “City of Oaks” for its countless oak trees that line up the streets in the heart of the city. The city was named after its founder Sir Walter Raleigh, who established the lost Roanoke Colony in what is now called Dare County.

Raleigh, along with Durham and Chapel Hill is part of a Research Triangle Area, because of the famous and prestigious educational Universities they share within close proximity of each other. Due to early measures and good decisions taken by authorities, the city is a fine example of a well planned city though it has been growing at a very fast rate. Some very prominent universities and colleges are located in Raleigh and along with the well laid out parks and shopping areas, the city is a favorite for the people living in Raleigh and many have fallen in love with it after visiting it once.
