Kothandaramaswamy Temple, Rameshwaram Reviews
This place holds a mythological history where Vibheeshana (Brother of Ravana) got coronation by Lord Rama. There exists a Vibhishana temple and also Rama-Sethu bridge which is of 22km connects to Srilanka. A must visit place for the people who are mythologically interested.
Small and nice temple. This is a historical place and the road to this place is the best. Both the sides water and the road is in very good condition and the breeze is nice (all this is in December...summer is going to be different). We can view the Rameshwaram town and the Ramanathaswamy Temple. Parking can be better.
Nice & Beautiful Temple Opposite To Sea 🌊 This Temple Is Built Around 500 Years Ago Parking 🅿 Place Is Too Small Neatness Should Be Maintained Here Water 💦 In Sea Is Low & we Can Walk In Sea Good To Be With Family & Children 🚸
The Kothandaramaswamy Temple at Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu is a shrine dedicated to the Hindu deity Rama. Located at a distance of 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) from Rameswaram, it forms the southernmost tip of the island. The temple is the only historical structure to survive the 1964 cyclone that washed away Dhanushkodi. The temple has the deities of Rama, Lakshmana, Sita, Hanuman and Vibhishana. The temple is surrounded by sea and remains a tourist attraction. It is easily accessible from Rameswaram. 👍👍
This Temple was the only Edifice which escaped the fury of 1964 Cyclone which destroyed Dhanushkodi. It is said the Swirling Waters just stopped short of the Temple. Now it is surrounded by Water on Three sides and there is a Narrow Approach Road from the Main Road. Puja is performed regularly. Very Calm Place. We can visit this Temple on our way to Dhanushkodi.
