If you want to sit and enjoy besides a lake, have your own BBQ area, Bear Lake County Park is a lovely, out of the way spot that's great for a stroll, picnic or time with kiddos on the playground. With ample parking space, spread across 166 acres of area, this park has play equipment, hiking trails, shelters, BBQ areas, and a swimming beach. You can enjoy a full day picnic with your family at two shelters, one is the Bear Lake East shelter and other is The Bear Lake West Shelter. The Bear Lake east shelter is available on a first come first basis and the lake west shelter is on the west side of the lake near the playground, volleyball court, restrooms, and lake access. One can easily have the full view of the lake for nearly the entire distance, as the trail is well maintained and has no elevation.

  • It's a nice enough lake but I'm from a small town and I'm not used to such crowded conditions. I'm still looking for my quiet uncrowded get away in the Spokane area. As far as this lake... Fair amount of shaded areas, good parking and access, fair picnic area and decent kids play area. Grand daughter tried her hand at fishing but with so many people, catching something like bass here, isnt likely.

  • So peaceful and secluded. A great place to picnic under the pines without lots of people and noise. Really great hiking areas, walking around the sweet little lake was fun!

  • Easy access to water, play equipment, and benches. There is a walking loop around the whole lake that is a perfect jaunt for people and pups. Lots of open parking along the park entrances, so there's no big jumbled lot. It feels very much like a park should, safe, secluded, beautiful, and still accessible by all!

  • Very beautiful place to take kids swimming. Calm waters and peaceful atmosphere made for one sleepy momma. Definitely will be back again.

  • Beautiful beach and picnic areas on both sides of the lake and a walking trail all around. What could be better? Mosquitos get really bad at dusk. Also includes a volleyball court public bathrooms and public use grills as well a gazebo.
