The Neonian Baptistery is one of the most ancient monuments of the city of Ravenna. It was commissioned by Bishop Urso and probably built at the beginning of the 5th century like the nearby cathedral. After many restoration works during the 5th and 6th century, the baptistery finally realized its current grace and décor. Decorated in tiers of marble, stucco and mosaics, this building is a magnificent piece of early architecture.
