The Mt Zion covered bridge, which happens to be the longest covered bridge of its kind, is one of the most popular attractions. Constructed in 1871, it is 246 feet long and 11 feet wide. It was built of yellow pine and has a ‘Burr arch post’. It is a wooden arch, supported by two king posts and named after the architect, Theodore Burr. The engineering and architecture of the covered bridge is a thing of wonder and tourists are fascinated with the concrete beauty. They offer the perfect chance to go for a peaceful drive in the country and enjoy the nature and scenic beauty. Even though the bridge is closed for vehicles, you can walk on it.
