Wellington Country Park, Reading Reviews - Write a Review
More than one great day out. There is so much to do in the park that we find new parts each time. They also have a good cafe and plenty of ice cream and drinks stalls scattered around the park and the toilets are well maintained. There is also a couple of things you need to spend more money on once in the park like the train and the electric cars but there is plenty to do without going on these things if you wanted. We have become a member as the individual price is a bit high to do every time and because of the great play parks and splash zone we are going to come lots of times to wear the kids out.
The best place of you have kids under 8! There's so much to do, you won't be able to do it all in one day. The farm is small but lovely and very safe. The new splash zone is perfect for toddlers and preschoolers as it's much safer than a paddling pool. There are always lots of benches for a lovely picnic by the lake and they serve an excellent hot chocolate for colder days. My boys favourite is the little train (refurbished in 2017). Great day out for all the family!
Really great venue, a little more dedicated to activities than the animals but the balance works really well. So much to do (Splash park, bouncy stuff, farm animals etc!) and the layout is well thought out. Overall it is well looked after and does not gouge you after paying the entry fee for anything inside the park. Love taking the kids there and season pass is well worth the money.
Great for camping. A bit pricey for a day visit.. but coupled with camping makes this a hit with the kids. Camp site is set within a dense wooded area.. you could be a million miles away from Reading. However.. If camping remember to bring rock pegs. The ground is super hard!
We've been to Wellington 3 times now & it's by far the best place we've taken our toddler. Really good price in comparison to other similar places. Lovely areas for picnics, fantastic parks (several different ones, varying in activities depending on age group), really friendly, welcoming staff with a lovely farm & petting area. The dinosaurs are fantastic & the train is great fun! We lost our daughters shoes on our visit & after contacting Wellington via Facebook, I had a reply within minutes, despite it being closed & had a message from them within 15 minutes of opening the following day to let me know they had them. We will definitely be visiting lots more in the future & would highly recommend to anyone.
