As you walk over the bridge, you will come across a chapel at its left side which is dedicated to Santo, who was considered as the original builder of the bridge. However, the old bridge collapsed in the year 1871 and later the new bridge was made at the place in 1884. The natives of the city consider this bridge as one of the symbols of the city as it provides an entrance to the Camino de Santiago.
