The chapel, one of largest in the area, became famous as a hospital chapel in the 14th century and onwards. It nearly didn’t survive though, when destroyed in the 1940s to make way for the dock. For a while it was even used as a warehouse. Today it houses two important things – the tourist office of Rennes Metropole, and a permanent exhibit (Rennes, city of art and history). It is a listed historical monument.
